A delegation of TMHRI calls on Veneto Innovazione

On July the 18th a delegation of the Methodist Hospital Research Institute (TMHRI) in Houston (Texas) met prof. Giorgio Simonetto and the staff dedicated to internationalization and technology transfer at Veneto Innovazione .
 
The delegation was accompanied by dr Marco Agostini from the Medical School of Padua University, and it was the occasion to discuss about possible co-operations between Veneto Universities and TMHRI.
 
Mr Tong Sun, TMHRI director, described all their programmes comprising research on cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and metabolic disease, infectious disease and inflammation, neuroscience, transplantation biology, that are studied with the most modern technologies such as for instance: bioengineering, bioinformatics and molecular imaging.
 
TMHRI labs host a number of researchers from all over the world and offer them all equipment and infrastructure to carry their studies on together with very interesting conditions in case of patents of discoveries and results.
 
TMHRI already cooperates with a number of foreign universities particularly in UK and China. The delegation came to Veneto region in order to build collaborations with Veneto Innovazione and Padua University.
 
Prof. Giorgio Simonetto expressed a great satisfaction for this visit, as it opens the horizon to new agreements and it allows to intensify Veneto scientific research inside international networks for the exchange of knowledge.
